“All-or-nothing goals won’t lead to successful new habits,” reveals AJG Direct

London-based sales and marketing firm, AJG Direct is confident that all-or-nothing New Year’s resolutions are not the way to success. Instead, the firm hopes people will focus on realistic goals in order to develop successful new habits.

AJG Direct is excited to start the New Year on a high and is trying to spread this positivity by helping others to set New Year’s goals that they can actually achieve. The firm feels that many people often fail when setting New Year’s resolutions because they often give themselves unrealistic expectations and don’t leave any wiggle room which is a setup for failure. AJG Direct states how many people cannot stick to their new goals because they either set too many goals or get derailed by small failures.

“Setting overly ambitious or restrictive goals is a major cause of failure. When goals are too ambitious we often struggle to change our habits,” revealed AJG Direct’s Paul Gillett. The business owner would like to see more people make a realistic lifestyle change which they are able to stick to and this will continue to motivate them to succeed in future endeavours.

AJG Direct reveals how many resolutions often symbolise not doing something, e.g. not eating fast food, or quitting smoking, however, the firm would like to see more people set positive goals which encourage doing something new or setting habits differently, like ‘I will run 3 miles without a break’ or ‘I will apply for a new job’.

AJG Direct highlights how people should re-set or re-evaluate their goals on a daily basis and not just on January 1st. The firm is confident that allowing wiggle room and re-evaluating goals means a slight slip up will not lead to a total meltdown and will allow people to regain their motivation and continue on track to achieve their goals.

“It is not always possible to reach a goal in the exact way you had hoped, but this does not mean you have failed altogether,” shared Mr. Gillett of AJG Direct. “Instead, it is possible to re-evaluate the situation and put new steps in place to achieve the target in a different way,” added the business owner.

AJG Direct has outlined some of their own positive goals for 2017 which focus on doing things including attracting new top clients, working with new talent within their firm to help develop new skillsets, and expanding into new areas across the UK.

AJG Direct is an outsourced sales and marketing firm based in North London. The firm specialises in a personalised form of marketing which allows them to connect with their clients’ ideal consumers on a face-to-face basis. This one-to-one interaction with consumers helps to drive long-lasting and personal business relationships between brand and consumer. In turn, this often leads to increased customer acquisition, brand awareness and brand loyalty for their clients.
